Numerical modeling is utilized along with constitutive modeling to mimic the failure under different conditions. Some material properties are obtained experimentally at nano scale, and used in the constitutive models in order to improve the simulation accuracy. Results show that impact failure in metals is a complex behavior and depends on many different factors that should be carefully considered in the modeling.
