Our traditional marriage has been affected by the western culture, which has affected the theatrical element in our traditional marriages. This project, attempts to look at the effects of western culture and the changing nature of theatrical element, in Gwong marriage system. The Gwong traditional marriage was theatrical, with the music, dances, songs, story, enactment, audience (guests), marriage celebration rituals, costume, make-up etc. All these elements, made the marriage very educating and entertaining. With the coming of the western culture, al these were erased giving way to the western (modern) marriage, which takes place in the church or court, with the bride on her white wedding gown and the groom on suit.
