Socio-economic rights have received scant attentions than civil and political rights for years, both at the international and national levels. It is also true for Ethiopia, because much has been achieved in the realm of civil and political rights but not for socio-economic rights. The jurisprudence of Ethiopian courts in the adjudication of the latter rights, even in the face of clear violations, is under-developed. Adding to the problem, there is no research that was done on the justiciability of socio-economic rights in the Ethiopian legal system to rectify the deficiency in the judicial practice.
