Delinquency is a psycho-social problem. In a developing country, like India, the problem of delinquency is becoming increasingly complex and therefore it is necessary for a scientific study of the problem in Indian context. It is particularly so because, there is dearth of such studies in our country and the workers in the field of delinquency are handicapped for lack of scientific information.
