Urogenital fistulas have been widely covered in the literature, with a particular focus on vesico-vaginal fistulas. Yet, from a prognostic point-of-view the urethro-vaginal fistula is a more serious illness, as the pathological process may involve not only the urethra but also the urethral sphincter that is responsible for the voluntary control of urination.
