Radiotherapy may be an effective alternative to surgery or a valuable adjunct to surgery in loco regional treatment of Oral cancers. Rapidly dividing malignant cells are especially responsive to this form of therapy. It has found a definite role for itself in the management of several forms of cancer, for almost all stages of the disease and can be combined with all modalities of treatment.
