Soon I became fascinated by this author and have been savoring her works one by one through these years. In Mrs Dalloway, Woolf writes that the main character Clarissa Dalloway feels “odd affinities” with people whom she has never seen; like Clarissa, I feel “odd affinities” with Woolf, whom I would never have the chance to meet. Sometimes I think perhaps I were Woolf and she were me; we share the same enigmatic characteristic. If I want to deepen my understanding of my existence, to tunnel into my soul and discover that essential enigmatic characteristic, the best way is to study my double—Virginia Woolf.
