Описание
Dramatic Monologue as a style is used by different writers since the 16th century. It is established chiefly by Robert Browning and later on modified gradually by poets like T. S. Eliot, and Carol Ann Duffy. This book critically deals with the conscious world of literary persona through the interpretations of the three famous dramatic monologues: “My Last Duchess” by Robert Browning, “The Love Song J. Alfred Prufrock” by T. S. Eliot, and “Nostalgia” by Carol Ann Duffy. The poets’ concentration on the projections of the irregularities, incongruities, inaptness, and hypocrisies of the society through their dramatic monologues are the points of concern. Through the discussion of three poems there are criticisms of life, time, society, peoples’ outlooks and above all the consciousness which is formless, full of frustration and delusion and aimless.
