The main thrust of the book is the History of Sultan Bello Mosque and its contribution to the Development of Islamic Education in Northern Nigeria. It highlighted on the origin, establishment and development of Kaduna as the capital city of the then Northern Region of Nigeria. It also highlighted on the diverse people that made up or constituted Kaduna – mainly the Zage – Zagi which were part of the extension of the kingdom of Zazzau in the early period as well as pockets of Gwari settlements, railway workers and with the transfer of the capital to Kaduna, clerks and government officials. This combination of people and their heterogeneous nature needed to be extensively Islamized. Hence, the building of Sultan Bello Mosque contributed tremendously towards that.
