Recent studies have provided evidence that positive emotions have crucial effects on diverse learning processes such as information processing, the communication process, the negotiation process, the decision-making process, category sorting tasks, and even the creative problem solving process. However, not many academic literatures exist on how to maintain students'' positive emotion in multimedia learning contexts where various multimedia components are employed such as clip art, graphics, sound, video, stories, stimulating examples, and pedagogical agents.
