It is a basis for a wide range of actions and decisions within educational institutions and between these institutions and the outside world. However , many teachers consider assigning grades as one of the most unpleasant tasks required of them. Lack of clear definition of what grade means and lack of clear cut criteria (evidence) to award grade were the main reasons for these discomfort and disagreement between teachers and students.
