In particular, a solid definition, structure of the Learning Object model, the reusability feature of the Learning Object and the pedagogical elements in the Learning Object metadata standard are noticeably absent. The aim of this study is to address these gaps by proposing a comprehensive definition and a Learning Object framework. The framework provides a structure for the Learning Object model and enhances Learning Object metadata standard by incorporating pedagogical and instructional elements. In addition it will also introduce new elements to improve the reusability of the Learning Object.
