Did his primary education at Mng'ona primary school and later moved to Chizongwe secondary school.He trained as a teachers at Kwame Nkrumah Teachers' College in Kabwe, Zambia. He has taught and lectured in many secondary schools and Teacher Training Colleges. Dr Banda did his masters at the University of Oslo, Norway and his PhD at Nottingham University in the UK. He is currently a lecturer in the school of Education at the University of Zambia where he lecturers in English Language teaching methods.
