The Northeastern Region of India is highly rich in water resources that can be exploited for the benefit of the nation in general and the region in particular.However, the present management system of water resources is not sustainable. If the current management system of water resource continues, India will have neither the cash to maintain and build new infrastructure, nor the water required for the economy and for the people, inspite of having turbulent water future.
