The study noted that the reforms focused on strengthening the financial systems through banking sector consolidation, foreign exchange market stabilization, interest rates restructuring and the pursuit of stabilization as against structural adjustment policies for monetary and inflationary controls. The paper investigates the effect of banking sector reforms on economic growth in Nigeria over the period 1999 - 2009.
