With the support of the project "Supporting the implementation of Vietnam Statistical Development Strategy in period of 2011 - 2020, vision to 2030" funded by UNDP, the General Statistics Office (GSO) hired three domestic experts, including 01 experts (Dr. Pham Dang Quyet) acting as team leader for the GSO conducting the baseline assessment of implementation of the Strategy. The assessment is based on the use of available information and collected information during field trips conducted at the units which undertake the activities of Vietnam Statistical Development Strategy. The report analyzes the current status of the Vietnam statistical system by 2013 and focus on a number of important issues of the statistical system, including data dissemination, coordination mechanisms, mechanisms to promote data quality and data dissemination activities and gives recommendations for solutions to overcome limitations in the field of statistics.
