 The importance to prepare “Guideline to Develop Teaching and Research Materials in Higher Learning Institutes” came to my mind few years back when I was working in Dilla University as instructor and faculty dean. At those times, I have seen serious deficiencies in almost all the instructors working in my faculty to prepare sound teaching (course syllabus, modules …) and research (proposals and manuscripts for publications ...) materials. I got the chance to take teaching methodology, pedagogy and philosophy in my PhD classes and I decided gather information relevant to come up with helpful the guideline development. I have tried to consult several relevant materials to my guideline from old and recent sources. The guideline will serve as a basic material for university instructors to prepare sound teaching and research materials.
