This book is a result of research carried out at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), aimed at exploring the potential of using Electronic Learning as a delivery mode in Distance Education (D-E). The findings of the study showed that largely electronic learning could take place as a delivery mode for distance education at the University. The institution is connected to the internet; but has very few skilled human resources to initiate Electronic Learning strategies. There is institutional willingness to change from traditional distance education instruction methods to Electronic Learning or offer a combination of the two. The study established the presence of many problems in traditional D-E like accommodation, inadequate pedagogical facilities like text books and long distances between the learner and the teacher to enable ample face-to-face opportunities.
