The education system which was evolved first in ancient India is known as the Vedic system of education. It was followed by Brahmanic and Buddhist Education. In 712 when Mohamed Bin Kasim invaded India, he brought with him the Muslim influence and this can be seen as the beginning of the Muslim Period. Many Madrasas and Maktabs were established, primarily to teach the religion of Islam. During the Muslim period, education made great progress since most of the kings and in particular Akbar saw education as secular and were dedicated to the cause of education.
