In February 2001, the South African government issued its 'National Plan for Higher Education', which outlined a framework to redress inequities in the country's higher education system perpetuated by the former government's apartheid ideology. In Access to Higher Education, author Marty Khan explores the challenges and conflicts the senior university leaders in Florida and South Africa faced while implementing these policies.
