Pulse combustion (PC) is known to offer better energy efficiency and low pollutant emission relative to steady combustion. It is being developed and used in a growing number of applications. But, very little academic literature exists to explain PC systematically. This book provides an overview of PC like its historical development, operating principles, a wide variety of designs and applications, latest research results, etc. Most importantly, this book presents how to develop the computational fluid dynamics models to simulate and analyze the PC combustion phenomena like flame structure, turbulent flow field and combustion characteristics in the burner.
