Twelve chapters are divided into four parts: Characteristics of Content Area Learning and teaching; Before, During and After Strategies for Content Area Learning and Teaching; Building Strengths, Meeting Needs and Making Connections; and Extending Content Area Learning. Throughout thetext, as teaching strategies are described, many examples are presented including actual material which teachers may use if the activities are appropriate to their teaching assignments. Content Area Learning and Teaching also contains glossaries of professional terminology related to the field of reading and a glossary of terms relating to testing.
