Over the last decade, the research on III-Nitrides semiconductor materials has increased exponentially, and engineering the III-Nitrides semiconductor materials for energy efficient laser and solid-state lighting are among the most exciting activities in nitride-based research and development area. Conventional methods of producing nitride-based laser are complicated and lack of viable approach for large scale production. Regarding existing technologies for solid-state white light sources, especially, white and color-tunable LEDs, they are suffered from severe patent issues.
