Sorghum plants were grown in the pots and inoculated with AMF (Glomus). Various concentrations of Cd and Pb (0.1%, 0.2%, 1.0%, 2.0% and 5.0%) were added to the pots and plant growth parameters (physical as well as biochemical) were analyzed. Extensive literature was studied to understand the mechanism related to the absorbtion of heavy metals by AMF, microbes and plants. It was found that even at highest concentration (5%)of Cd and Pb, sorghum plants are able to survive and absorb the considerable amount of heavy metals from the soil.
