Lanthanide bromide – alkali bromide molten salt systems were studied experimentally.For the first time systematic investigation of alkali bromide systems with divalent EuBr2 were made and results are presented in this work.Phase diagrams of 8 systems were determined, heat capacity of corresponding stoichometric compounds and liquid mixing enthalpies of bromide europium(II) systems were measured. Raman spectra of pure EuBr2 and reflectance spectra of some lanthanide bromide – alkali bromide mixtures were performed. Electrical conductivity experiments were performed for all alkali bromide mixtures with LaBr3, NdBr3 and EuBr2.Using two mathematical techniques (Partial Least Square and Principal Component Analysis) and multivariate analysis it was possible to intercorrelate properties of molten salt dataset selected from Janz database with the ultimate goal of making predictions.
