Prevalence of type 2 Diabetes Mellitus has been increasing significantly in all countries. It is widely recognized that the most serious problem in DM arises from the insidiously developing vascular complications.This cross-sectional study, aimed to determine the level of serum phospholipids in Sudanese patients suffering from diabetes mellitus type 2.Fifty samples were collected from Almotkamil centre. The study included both sexe, 25 males (aged 45-70years), whereas, 25 were females (aged 45-68years). Venous blood (2.5 ml) were taken from each patient in lithium heparin container; serum was obtained in plain container, and the samples were analyzed for serum phospholipids levels using spectrophotometer.
