Students are exposed to print and electronic media that advocate the use of drugs. The target population was form two and form three students, deputy head teachers and heads of guidance & counseling department in Nakuru municipality secondary school. In total nine secondary schools were selected through simple random sampling. Purposive technique was used to select the eight deputy head teachers and seven heads of guidance and counseling departments. The total number of respondents were 335. The results indicated that the major reason for students’ indulgence in drug abuse is the belief that it brings relaxation and high feeling high. Male students were the most dominant users of drugs. Boys’ schools and mixed schools were more adversely affected by drug abuse than the girls’ schools. Drug advertisement had the significant influence on drug use among students particularly alcohol and cigarettes advertisement
