Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disorder that affects about 2.1 million Indians and Americans. Disease-modifying anti-inflammatory (DMAIDs) and anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) are the recent Morden therapy against rheumatoid arthritis. Because of their high cost, the prolonged use of many of these drugs is associated with severe adverse reactions and toxicity.
