The present research is deals with the development of flurbiprofen colon targeted compression coated tablets to retard the drug release in the upper gastro intestinal system but progressively release in the colon. Combination of time dependent and pH sensitive approaches was suitable to target the flurbiprofen to colon. This work explains the detailed explanation on formulation, in vitro characterization, in vivo x-ray imaging studies and in vivo pharmacokinetics in human volunteers. This book, therefore, benefits the M. Pharm project students those who are interested to work in colon targeting area.
