 This book deals with the grammar of Sidaama (a Cushitic language spoken in south-central Ethiopia) and contains five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction and provides information about Sidaama and its speakers, significance of the study, review of previous grammatical studies, etc. The second chapter deals with the phonemes and various phonological processes. The third chapter treats lexical and morphological categories and covers various word classes, inflection, derivation and compounding. In the fourth chapter phrasal categories such as NP, VP, AP, etc. are examined. In addition, complements, specifiers and modifiers are discussed. In the fifth chapter the structure of simple and complex sentences (which arise via sentential subordination or coordination) are analyzed.
