The variables that were identified and tested as possible causes of staff turnover included remuneration, management styles, staff promotions, education and trainings, benefits, age, employee tenure as well as gender stereotypes. The study targeted library staff and personnel managers working in four private universities within Nairobi and Machakos Districts. The study has discussed in detail why the librarians leave employment and made recommendations on the way forward.
