This study examined the relationship between resource materials provision and pass rates at Grade seven level in ten primary schools in Masvingo district. The random sample consisted of ten primary schools and involved all the teachers of the schools. For data collection both structured and unstructured questionnaires, interviews and observations were employed in order to improve on validity and reliability of the findings. The results of the study indicated that that there is a close relationship between resource materials provision and pass rates in primary schools. It was also established that the different categories of schools (Rural District Council, trustee, Former Group A/ Government and mission schools) have different resource bases which account for their different pass rates.
