As existing pummelo plantation in the Konkan region is of seedling origin, large variation in growth and yield parameters is observed. However, no efforts have been made in selection of superior genotypes of pummelo grown in the Konkan region. By taking into consideration the future importance of this crop under changing agro climatic conditions and as a scope for area expansion under uniform genotype, it was felt necessary to undertake the characterization of pummelo in north Konkan region of Maharashtra during academic year 2011-2013.
