The method of Compton suppression using the co-incidence technique in order to reduce the noise in the spectra and the add-back feature of the clover detector and its efficiency are lucidly discussed in the text. The polarisation method in order to get information about the electric/magnetic nature of the gamma rays emitted from the radioactive source is also discussed.
