Judicial review of the legality of acts and omissions of the Community Institutions is pursued by means of actions for annulment and failure to act. Natural and legal persons can only bring these actions before the European Court of Justice under strict conditions. This book analyzes the position of natural and legal persons in these actions. The locus standi of private applicants in case law of the European Court of Justice is not entirely consistent, here it is examined from both a theoretical and a practical perspective. Furthermore, this work presents the positions of scholars on the restrictive interpretation of the locus standi conditions adopted by the European Court of Justice.
